Love the innocuous picture book format belying important concepts - lovingly illustrated. A mini adventure that leaves the devices behind and heads into the real world. Smart City - bought the paperback for my ten year old daughter and she read it through with me and tackled the poser questions. At dinner she explained to her mum and brother what till-less supermarkets are and how they work.

Self-Driving Car, is a fantastic mix of fiction and technological fact. I loved how readers learn the meaning of vocabulary related to real-world technology alongside the story and pictures, showing it in use to help understand it. The bold terms make it easy to see the key terms, and the bright and colourful pictures will keep readers engaged as they follow the characters using the apps and tech.

’Self-Driving Car’ immediately grabs your attention and keeps a hold of it throughout the text. An exciting topic for a children’s book that delivers an excellent range of technological concepts, subject specific vocabulary and discussion prompts. Definitely one to add to the classroom or home bookshelf!”

Every Computing Lead should order this book! Smart City explains the technology we have today in a fun, interesting, and easy to understand way for children, parents and teachers!

This is a great tool for children both at home and in school as it's easy to read. It has good points of interaction to get children, 'pausing to ponder' the constantly changing landscape that smart technology will bring into their lives. I also enjoyed how the book gets children thinking about what they'd like to do when they're older and how technology will play a huge part in their future career choices. It's educational without preaching and has lots of fun illustrations.

An excellent little book to teach young children about the digital age and how it affects all of us. It teaches them the words for different aspects of digitalisation, and makes them aware of the many ways it is going to affect all of our futures.
